Case File · Safeguards

Built for a training record.

Six rules every run follows, written for the training sergeant, the officer, and the department's IT and legal reviewers.

Fictional people only

Every person in Case File is invented: the name, the face, the voice, the story. No face is a real person's; no voice is cloned from anyone; no case is drawn from a real report. Nothing an officer says to a character describes, or could be taken to describe, a real person or a real crime. Every officer acknowledges this once, before their first run.

Your data stays yours

Each run's transcript, audio and debrief belong to the department. They are stored in the United States, seen only by the officer who ran it, the department's coordinator and the command staff the coordinator names as evaluators, and Investigative Logic for support. They are never used to train anything, never shared, and deleted on request when a department leaves.

Graded from the words

Nothing is graded that isn't in the transcript. Every item in a debrief points at the line that earned it, in the officer's own words. Nothing physical is graded: no posture, no tone of voice, no body camera. A supervisor grades those from the recording, as they always have.

Positives first

Every debrief opens with what went right, quoting the officer. Then the two things that matter most to try next time, written as something to say. The full grade on every item sits below. Officers build the skill through success, not through a list of fifteen corrections.

Coordinator's view

The coordinator sees every run by every officer in the department: the transcript, the debrief, the audio, hours used against the pool, and each officer's progress over time, with a download for the training file. Officers see only their own runs.

Nothing to install

A current browser and a headset. No software, no plug-in, no administrator rights, nothing on the department network beyond an ordinary web page. What you need, and what IT should allow →
